| Treasures of the Virindi
Step 0: Preparation
Step 1: Getting a Key Ok, here is how this quest works. This is the lockpicker's quest, added with the March patch, "Spring's Sorrows." If you do not have lockpicking, you can stop now, as the keys are no-drop no give before carving. To get the key you want, look at the below table which shows lockpick skill requirements, monster to kill, etc.
*Update: I have received reports of people finding the Singularity Key on a Virindi Servant, so I am betting that each key has a specific drop-rate on all of the monsters above, with the Singularity Key having an extremely low drop-rate on the other Virindi.
I got my first Singularity Key off a Tumideon Hollow Minion in the Tumideon Fortress. Now, this place is rough, and has Tusker Guards and Virindi as well as Hollow Minions. I do not suggest you try to go for this key if you are under level 40 in a large group, or 53 solo (I am level 55 currently, as I leveled while doing this quest.) :)
Step 2: Carving the Key Once you get free and clear of the dungeon, have a mage buff your lockpick skill as high as possible, and then use the Intricate Carving Tool on the key. If successful, you will now have a carved version of the key.
Step 3: Where's the Treasure? The easiest way to get to one of the above "Super-UBER" chests is to goto Mayoi, and catch the Mayoi to South Direlands portal (62.2S, 77.1E). Once there, simply run around until you find one. They can usually be found on the beaches. Now, since I failed on my first key attempt with the Singularity key, I am not sure what is in that one, but the Directive's Cache and the Master's Holding rock, giving out some TRUE Uber-Loot. If you get a Singularity Key, manage to carve it, and open a Singularity Trove, PLEASE let me know what's there. In the meantime, it's back to the Tumideon Fortress for me...
