| Major Smoldering (Fire) Stone Quest Guides: Al Psyche, The Spectre, Bryster, Nicoh the Valiant Objective: Acquire the Major Smoldering Stone. Target is located in the Johannan Vault at 67 N, 15 E. Situated on the rim of the crater this ancient empyrean vault is now home to various zefirs and fire elementals. (Its also very graphic intensive and will cause low frame rates on lower end systems) Equipment: Bring any jewelry that can protect you against Fire Attacks and Spells in general (Magic Resistance), health, stamina and mana potions, Healing Kits and backup Robe (Mages) or backup armor (warriors), deaths items.
Walk-Thru (Spoiler) {Doing this solo is NOT recommended for under level 35) As soon as you enter the dungeon. their will be 2-3 zefirs ready to greet yah, easily countered, as soon as yah portal in, take some steps back and around the corner, they almost always get stuck on the wall, and swipe away. Now as that's done, it is possible to make the whole way through by yourself, if you look across you'll see 3 jumping platforms, these you don't take, instead you must jump down. If you are a drainer, you got this place made, if your melee here's how it goes, jump down, jump down again, take the corridor below you and head up the hill. You can take right or left, but if your on your own I suggest right. Go up that path, and you'll be greeted by 3-4 mountain rats. After getting rid of them, you can either run past the two flammas and a flare, or fight them. Next up the list is a run past 3 zefirs, then once you get passed the narrow bridge, you have 1 zefir and a flamma to face. If you have good armor and fire resistance, I would suggest taking the zefir out first then the flamma, as if you try to run by you will most likely be stuck with them in your way. After doing so, run down this hallway till you meet 2 zefirs in a room, slay them and continue with a jump. For this jump you hold shift to walk, and line your characters head up with the chain, then while walking, hold jump to full power and take the leap of faith. If you fall at this point, recall out FAST. Once you make the jump, turn right and run across this narrow platform to another jump (open walkway on your left.) This is a different kind, what you do for this is run towards the middle of the doorway, tap the spacebar, and you'll jump right in the room. Once killing anything in this room, this is a good place to rebuff. Next is a mountain rat up the hall, maybe 1 zefir, after this keep continuing down the hall way and you'll come across more jumps. For these jumps, it is recommended that you hold shift (walking jump) and hold the spacebar to about 2/3 power. Ok, now you are halfway through. Run up this hallway and you'll see 1 zefir on the way, always take the left path, till your once again greeted by more jumps. Hold shift at 2/3 power yet again for these, make the first one, turn to your left and yet another shift jump hanging in mid-air, once you make this jump for the doorway with the run, tap. You should be greeted by a mountain rat or 2 here. After killing these proceed up this little hill slowly until you see a big glob of orange above you. When your ready to continue, run tap to the doorway and proceed up the hill just enough to get the flamma after you. After you see him moving towards you, quickly run back and jump for the platform again, down he falls, now your way is clear a little ways. Next, run down this pathway and continue straight till you see another flamma after you. Run all the way back jump for the platform and watch him and his rat fall. Now your way is cleared all the way. Continue down this hallway into a room with 2 bridges straight ahead of you going from right to left. For the first, jump at full power and make the jump, if you fall there is a rat or a zefir down with you. Quickly kill them and look to your right for a passage, continue down here and there is 3 zefir and 1 flamma, no way to run past. You must fight tem if you fall. Continue past them and you're at the bridge you missed. Next... There is another bridge in front of you but its not against the wall so it is easily over jumped. What you do is go to the other corner (the right one), and jump for the other bridge in a diagonal manner so you smack the wall and fall on the bridge. Now, you have 1 or 2 flammas stopping you from your stone. Run up the path on the left side of the bridge and get them coming after you, then run back down and jump back to the first bridge diagonally again. They will fall. Now all you have to do is jump back. Follow the path where the flammas were and now your at the final pit. if your alone your only option is this... buff up with everything you got, and jump for the right forward corner so you miss the exit portal, you'll take about 30-40 damage. Heal up as fast as you can as you will be greeted by 4-6 zefir. Run through the passage across the bridge, and you can see the altar with the stone, but Mr. inferno with his buddy flamma are there to. Ignore them and run for that stone, pick it up and run back to that exit portal. Congratulations, you now have a new major fire stone. |
