Singularity Weapons / Diamond Scarabs

  Note: There are two ways to get the 5 Diamond scarabs.  The first is go get 4 motes and combine them into a pyreal nugget.  Take the nugget to Faruza ibn Salaq at 76N, 49.1W.  He will give you 5 Diamond scarabs.  The second is detailed below.

Step 0: Preparation

  • Elemental Protections against the high-level Mosswarts you will face near the end of the dungeon

  This quest will require you travel from Waijhou to the Vesayan Isles to complete.  In both sections, you will want to have all elemental protections.  You will also need a Sturdy Iron Key to open the chest with the Virindi Essence in it.  Please note that I am still gathering up all the specifics for this one, so if you have any further details, please email them to me.

Step 1: The Tattered Virindi Cloak (Singularity Weapons)

  If you are going for a Singularity weapon, you will want to find spawns of 5 Mosswart Mire-Witches in the Dires.  The Mire-Witch spawns in the Vesayan Isles and the Mosswart Chamber do not appear to drop the cloak.

  

Step 1: The Torn Mosswart Shroud (Diamond Scarab Quest)

  If you are going for the Diamond Scarabs, you will need to go to the Zaikhal Mosswart chambers (14.1N  0.7W)  and kill the mossies in there to get the shroud.  This dungeon is populated by high level mosswarts that cast LOTS of spells.  You may want to get the shroud after the essence as you will need to come back here to finish the quest anyways.

Detailed Directions (Provided by The Ghost)

  1. Jump off the platform when you arrive, and head to the hallway straight ahead as you land.

  2. There, you will see a closed door with 2 Mosswarts behind it.  This is the correct path to the bottom of the dungeon.

  3. Take a very straight path to the bottom.  You will walk down a ramp and be in the Mosswart Chambers.  This room also has the portal to the Moss Chamber.

There are 2 Mosswart Mire-Witches and Gragghk, the Mosswart Boss.  He is level 117 and a very high Melee Defense skill (400 range).  He casts level V War spells (Mostly Acid and Frost).  He uses a variety of weapons (usually acid-based), and his fists.  On Gragghk's corpse is the Torn Mosswart Shroud, which has a quest timer (not known how long as yet.)

Step 2: The Virindi Essence

  The Virindi essence is located in the Mosswart Hideout on the Vesayan Isles (72.9S  90.7E).  You will need to work your way down to the bottom of the dungeon, and locate a room with a Sturdy Iron Key chest in it, guarded by some more nasties.  Use your SiK on the chest and grab the Virindi Essence.

Detailed Directions (Provided by The Ghost)

  1. Once inside, head straight ahead from where you portal in.

  2. Run down the ramp and turn to your left.

  3. Fight through the mid-level mosswarts and take your first left that you see has a ramp going down.

  4. You will run down into a purple room with 6-8 mid-level mossies and one Idol.

  5. Behind the Idol is a tunnel leading down to the Virindi Essence chest. (REQUIRES STURDY IRON KEY)

Step 3: Mosswart Chamber

  Now that you have your items, you will need to head to the Zaikhal Mosswart Chamber (14.1N  0.7W).  In the bottom of this dungeon, you will find a portal labeled "Moss Chamber."  Take this portal and you will appear inside a room with 5 Virindi.  At this point, combine either the shroud or the cloak with the essence and you will get a glowing version:

  Each of the Virindi in this room will give you a different item.  Look on the floor to tell which is which.  If you have the glowing Virindi cloak, you will need to give it to one of the Virindi with a weapon on the floor in front of it.  If you are getting the scarabs, give the shroud to the other one. 

  Note: If you get a singularity weapon, remember: THIS ITEM IS DESTROYED UPON DEATH.  There is also a quest timer on these items, though I am not sure how long it is.
