Step 0: Preparation

  Are you sure you wanna become a pk?  Do you really think you are that bad?  Ok, I recommend that you go buy the key from the apple seller PRIOR to going pk (see step 2)  That way, once you are at 40% vitae, you at least have a little better chance of getting to the Altar of Asheron alive. :)

Step 1a: Becoming a PK - Choice 1 (easier)

  Go to Baishi and give the Drunken Madman located at 53.0S  61.0E some sake (you can buy this in town.)  He will open a portal to the Accursed Halls.  Down deep in this dungeon, past some Banderling Scouts, Captains, Guards, and Young you will find the altar, which has a large red sphere floating above it.  Double click on it to become a PK, as shown below:

Step 1b: Becoming a PK (the hard way)

  Go down into Dungeon Nye (6.2N  34.4E) and find a Broken Sigil (clue:  jump across something that looks sort of like a bridge).  Take this to the Hermit located at 11.8N  33.7E (he is north of the dungeon.)  The hermit will open a portal to Old Talisman Dungeon (2.3S  85.6W.)  Down at the bottom past Zombies, Liches, and Undead you will find an altar with a large red sphere floating above it.  Double-click on it to go pk.

Step 1c: Becoming a PK, (the hardest way)

     Ok, now it's off to the Dires.  As should be expected, buff up to the max for the run.  The closest run from there is to find someone with a tie to the Sclavus Cathedral in the mid Dires and run due west to get there, or get a Scroll of Mt. Lethe Recall.  Once inside, be prepared to face some Virindi, Some nasty undead, Augmented and Altered Drudges, and Fire Elementals all the way up to Firestorms.  Here is the route to go:

1. Head down the tunnel and take a left.

2. Head down the next ramp and look for a room with a locked door to the west.

3. Pick the door and continue on until you eventually get past 3 bridges.  At the point there is a T intersection.

4. Pull the lever in front of you, and head over to the now open door to the right.  There is a PK altar here, and you will fight Cambarth and his Foreman, who have both been given serious upgrades.

Step 2:  Getting rid of PK status

  There are two ways to get rid of pk status.  The easy way is to cast Recall the Sanctuary to get to the Ithaenc Cathedral.  Once there, run back into the downstairs area of the cathedral and you will find 2 tombs below.  The tomb on the right (Adja's Tomb) will change you back into a non-pk.  This area is often camped by experienced pks who will jump you, so you might want to have a friend check ahead for you, or go the harder route shown below.

  The hard way to become a NON-PK is to go to the apple seller located at 13.6N  50.7E (located between Rithwic and Cragstone.)  Then you will need to get to Trothyr's Rest alive (10.3N  54.9E.)    Down in the bottom of the dungeon, located behind a door that requires the apple-sellers key is the Altar Of Asheron.  Double-click here to get rid of "red dot" status.  The altar looks like a pedestal with 3 light blue spheres floating above it, shown below:
