Quest Timer: One Month

The Story So Far...

   Rumors abound about a failed Aluvian community where Tou-Tou is now located.  Your mission:  Discover the truth of these rumors...

Step 1: Background

Go to the armorer in Tou-Tou, Xao Fen, and talk to him.

Armorer Xao Fen tells you, "I heard that this was once where a failed Aluvian community stood. But I don't believe it."


Han Rin Jo is in the same building as the barkeep, Mi Chi

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Sit, Please."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "In my life, I have seen a great many wonders that have challenged my beliefs, and driven me near the edge of forsaking all that I had known. But in Jojii, I have found the virtuous path."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Not so long ago, another came to me.
He was as accomplished as you, more so perhaps. What he had accomplished is not as important as what he had learned."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "His name is Honshu Takeda, and he has begun to learn about himself and the way of Jojii. He had lost his way, and I have set him back upon his path. He will follow the shrines to Jojii. The first lies within this very town, just beyond these doors between the trees."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "His journey will end in Kara. Much wisdom can be garnered by following the path and incorporating the lessons of the four stones in your actions."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Should you wish to follow in his steps, seek the shrine and pray as I am sure he has done."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "The narrow path allows all who walk upon it to attain balance."
 

Scrawled Note at 28.3S 95.8E says (and it can not be picked up):

"I am without the tongue to express the emptiness that has entered my being.  I have lost sight of what it meant to live a right life. I have placed the need of physical goods over the breath that must fill my soul.

"I feel like a husk of a man. I am in need of healing and a way back to a life of meaning and depth. I step onto the path of Jojii with cautious feet, mindful that I must have become empty so that I may be filled. I will let the grace of the Unicorn light my feet, the splendor of the Firebird guide my will, and the Strength of the Dragon be my arm.

"If you choose to follow me, seek out Han Rin-Jo first. He dwells within the inn in this town. He has set me on my path. I will begin where I began my journey on this world. The burned out husk that was once the arrival hall in Nanto.

"Seek the adherent there."
 

Step 2: The Search

Ikomi Ra, Jojii Adherent tells you, "I have met the man you seek, this Honshu Takeda. He is a good man. He will find his way back to the path of right living. I have sent him to seek grace at the shrine in Sawato. Perhaps if you pray, as he likely did, at the shrine you will see grace as well."

Ikomi Ra is at the Nanto South output at 49.1S 81.6E

From Nanto to Sawato, take these portals:

to Yanshi @ 52.7S, 80.3E

to Shoushi @14.S7, 46.5E

and then run WNW to Sawato

There is a Jojii Shrii at 28.7S, 59.2E. It acts as an NPC, not as an item



Double click on the shrine and it says:  "As you sit and pray at the small shrine you see a small note resting on the top. You take the note."

You will receive a note titled Unicorn's Grace, which says:

"My travels have lead me to the town of Sawato, a shining bastion in the dankness of the great swamp of Osteth.

"I have prayed at this shrine and been enlightened as to the location of a place where crystals beyond beauty are shaped by an underground swell of water. There I am certain to find what shall be representative of the Unicorn's Grace.

"I pen this note to all others who will follow. To the south, where the swamp gives way to the mountains, there is a cave. Within this cave these crystals grow."
 

The dungeon call Unicorn's Grace is at 38.0S 60.2E and is level 35+.


Step 3: Unicorn Grace

Foyer of this dungeon, Unicorn Grace, is clear, but don't wonder down the hall too far. There is no exit portal at the entrance. First critter was banderling striker, later some banderling rogues.

Follow the Right hand rule to find the exit portal, near the exit portal is a down ramp. Take this down ramp, go through a door, and down another ramp to the last room, which includes a banderling berserker.

In this room is a note, titled Unicorn's Cavern and a Crystal of Grace.  When you double click on the crystal, you get the message:

"You amass a small collection of crystals that link together, looking much like sollerets. The crystals come apart as easily as they can be put together."

If you double click again this crystal you get the message

"The crystals that you collected within the past month have not reformed.
Perhaps if you wait just a short while longer you will be able to find more."

The Crystals of Grace, once you have them, have this explanation:

"These crystals appeared to fit together to form sollerets when you found them, but they come apart easily.

Attuned & Bonded (no drop? no give?)

"Something can be applied to these crystals, but what that item is, is unclear."

The note Unicorn's Cavern says:

"This cavern has inspired such dreams within me. I walk lighter and the vibrations of the crystals within my hands has begun a reawakening within me.

"I will next make my way to the forest town. Where I shall seek the next shrine to Jojii. I am sure that there will be more enlightenment along that path.

"It is odd, when I look upon the crystals I feel as though they would fit upon my feet, but they are crystals meant for a greater purpose. Of this, I am sure."

Step 4: Lin

In Lin, which is somewhat forested, there is another Jojii shrine, at 54.3S, 73.1E. If you double click it, you get a note and a message:

As you sit and pray at the small shrine you see a small note resting on the top. You take the note.

If you double click this shrine, Jojii Shrine tells you, "Each droplet has its course plotted within the river."

The note is title Firebird Splendor, and it's contents are:

"Again I have achieved a moment of clarity while meditating and reaching toward detachment. In that instant I saw the firebird streak across the sky setting down to the west of this town. Where the sun would fall below the mountains.

"It was a sight unlike any that I have seen in my days. I shall begin my journey to the place that I saw in my vision when I have finished penning this vision for those who follow me still."
 

Step 5: Firebird Splendor

The Firebird Splendor is at 53.6S 66.7E on top of a small mountain, and is level 35+. Entrance foyer is safe but level 61 skeleton bone knights are visible. No exit portal close to foyer I followed the left hand rule for about 10 minutes to find exit portal, did not take, but continued left hand rule, and found a note titled "Stone of the Firebird" in a hallway.
 

Continuing on, you found a "Smooth Rock" in a lava bed which does no damage.

The text of the Stone of the Firebird note is:

"As I entered this place I questioned whether I would find the splendor that I sought. There in the darkness of the fire hewn halls I questioned if this place of ash and soot could be the home of something so perfect as the splendor that I sought.

"When I saw the rock formation within the lava, I knew that my journey was complete. For atop the stones sat a perfect sphere.

"I know that I had found what will become the splendor and focus of the Firebird. My feet lead me to Kara. Where I shall meet another, and my journey will end."

When you double click the smooth rocks, you get this message: "The rocks appear to be too large to carry. However, as you search through them you see one that has been formed into a perfectly smooth sphere, about the size of an orb."

The Smooth Rock weighs 500bu and has no value. When you examine it, it has the following text:

"This rock is a perfect sphere, rubbed smooth in hot, magma currents.

"Attuned & Bonded (no drop? no give?)

"Something can be applied to this rock, but what that item is, is unclear."

Step 6: Kara

In Kara 83.4E, 47.2S, there is another Jojii adherent and he says:

"Miko Li, Jojii Adherent tells you, "You seek the power of the dragon, as did Honshu. Very well. I shall tell you were he was sent. In the valley, across the stretch of land, and water. Through the hills that bite, atop the crest where the sun sets, there is a portal into the place where the Dragon's flame smolders in a basin of metal. Honshu went there to find the Dragon's power."

"Miko Li, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Go there and find the strength that I hope he found."

Step 7: Dragon's Power

Dragon's Power at 82.3S 41.4E. Entrance foyer may not be clear, found critter corpse at drop point. No exit portal at beginning. Drop point is a three way intersection. Orient yourself so that your back is to the very short hallway. Then follow the left hand rule. There will be dark leeches and dark revenants along the way, and a great revenant at the end. Very close to the exit portal you will find a Smoldering Glazier, when you double click it, you get a message:

"The curvature of the metal basin is perfect for a shield. As you sift the coals and ashes aside you can tell that the heat from the burning embers has created this perfect object."

You get a Brazier of Power, weighing 500 and value 0. When you examine it,

"The heat of this fire bent this brazier in to the perfect shape for a shield.

"Attuned & Bonded (no drop? no give?)

"Something can be applied to this brazier, but what that item is, is unclear."

Near this Glazier is a note titled Journey's End, which says:

"Strength welled through my body and I was stricken with a sense of awe. I have never felt such humility as when confronted with the Dragon's fearsome power. As I wrested the brazier free, I knew that I had found its Power.

"My journey is not yet done. I am heading now to a remote area northeast of Kara. There I shall bring the elements of the path together as one. I can feel that each has an inner magic separately but I think that the reward for knowing all three shall be grander."


Step 8: Honshu Takeda

Just east of Kara is a Grand Canyon. To get over that, I used that South Adjamaer Cottages portal at 82.8S 48.2E, which takes you to 80.6S, 56.0E.  Run NE to 77.7S 59.2E and you will find Honshu Takeda.

Double clicking Honshu, gives you this message:

Honshu Takeda tells you, "You have done well to find the power of the Dragon."

Honshu Takeda tells you, "You have done well to find the power of the Firebird."

Honshu Takeda tells you, "You have traveled the same path as I, and learned the lessons of the great spirits. Now you must know how they fit together."

Honshu Takeda tells you, "The base is the Dragon's power. The grace of the Unicorn must be spread within. The splendor of the Firebird can be placed atop the combination of strength and grace but...only with pure water that represents the four stones and the path of Jojii can you bring the object to life."

Honshu Takeda tells you, "Here, take this."

Honshu Takeda gives you Pure Water.

Honshu Takeda tells you, "The water can be used to waken the combined spirit of the three, or to awaken the strength of just one. I would advise against waking just one. There is little that can be finished that is not complete."

The Pure Water is 500 bu and 0 value. Examining the Pure Water, you discover it says:

"This water appears to be perfect in every way. It appears clear, cool and refreshing.

"Attuned & Bonded

"The water is pure, and is meant to anoint the trappings of those who have walked the way of Honshu Takeda.


Use the Brazier of Power on the Crystals of Grace and you get Power & Grace, which has a value of 0, and a burden of 1000. You get this message: "You sprinkle the crystals into the basin, preparing them for the perfect stone."

When you examine it, it says:

"The crystals of grace have been scattered into the Brazier of Power.

"Attuned & Bonded

"As explained by Honshu, you may place the Rock of Splendor atop this item, and then anoint it with the water of purity."

Use the Power & Grace on the Rock of Splendor, and you get this message:  "You place the stone atop the crystals and are filled with a warm feeling.  It is missing one final element." You get Power, Grace, & Splendor which weighs 1500 and has value of 0.

When you examine, it says:

"The splendor of the firebird, the grace of the unicorn, and the power of the dragon have been joined in this object.

"Attuned & Bonded

"As explained by Honshu, you may anoint it with the water of purity to get a new object."

Use the pure water on the Power, Grace, & Splendor, and you get this
message: "You pour the water over the crystals and a magical change takes place." You receive a Font of Jojii, which weighs 1750 and has a value of 24000. When you examine it, you discover "A font crafted from the objects representative of the Sho belief."

It is floor hookable.

Can't interact with this quest in the middle, you can't jump into any of the dungeons with out talking the character or jojii shrine just in front of it.
For example, Miko Li, Jojii Adherent tells you, "One must possess humility so as to not be filled with pride."

Other comments by a JoJii adherent

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Seek the truth of Jojii. His teaching can be found in every aspect of life. To follow his words is to walk the right way in life."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "Within the bounds of grace lies the wisdom to know strength."

Han Rin-Jo, Jojii Adherent tells you, "There is no grace in the bull.
Passion is the way of the poet, not wisdom. Ignorance is a shield that protects none."


If you try to pick up a second water of purity from Honshu, you get this message:

Honshu Takeda tells you, "You have completed your journey. Allow time for the teachings to be set within your being. If within one month you are still without direction, follow my path again, and I shall teach the steps anew."

If you combine the water of purity with the brazier of power you get a shield of power.

It's description is:

"This shield is a boon of strength and is symbol to the adherents to the of the Dragon. The symbol looks as if it could be changed with the right materials."

The shield can be stamped with the various stamps using the item tinkering skill. I combined an academy stamp with the shield, and got this message:

Your base Item Tinkering skill is now 203!
You emboss the shield with the emblem of the Academy Guard!

If you combine the water with the Rock of Splendor, you get the Orb of Splendor.

If you combine the water with the Crystals of Grace, you get the Sollerets of Grace.

Quest Rewards
