Dagger of Tikola

Step 0: Preparation

  • Kill some wood golems until you find a wood heart to speed up you entry.  Just outside and right at the Foyer of the dungeon are a few wood golems you can work on to get one.

  • Folthid Cellar is closest to Yanshi. The run from Yanshi to Folthid cellar may pass by some Mire Wasps.

  • This quest is suitable for any group that can handle two liches at once. Two 20th level people is usually sufficient.

Step 1: The House

This is where the quest begins. To find out about this quest, there is a lady nearby in a small hut who, after being given a parchment, will direct you to give a wood golem heart to Raxanza Folthid. Lady Folthid will, in turn give you a key (below) and ask that you recover some "Old Nectar" from her cellar.

Step 2:  The Entrance

  Folthid's Cellar is just a short run east of Lady Folthid's house.   Once past the locked door, turn right. You will now wind past a bevy of barker and mudlurk mossworts and an occasional limestone golem. There are several opportunities to jump down and circumvent some of the top half of the dungeon, but at least one person must get to the lever. If these creatures pose a threat to your party, however, you're not ready for the rest of the quest so you should turn back while you still can.

This lever is guarded by a limestone golem, and the front door to it is locked from the inside. To get to it, you run around past some more mossworts. Flipping this lever opens a door in the room visible past the lever. That room can be exited in two ways, one to a surface portal and the other:

In this small room are three mossworts, including a shaman. The chest visible on the right has the Old Nectar. If you return this nectar to Lady Folthid, she will reward you with 500 pyreals. The blackness beyond this room, however, is your destination. The jump here is one-way. Beyond are liches and undead.

Step 3: Getting to the Dagger

The room you jump in to has 4 exits. If you number them from left to right, you want the third exit. You will run through a room with ramps, turn, go down, then re-enter the room on a different level. Look for the following lever, and flip it.

Step 4: The Sclavi

You will run back to the room with the ramps close to the first lever, and run through it to the now-opened gate. Just beyond this gate is a 20-foot drop. If you wait here long enough, one of the three Se Sclavi will come to greet you, and it can be easily dispatched with ranged attacks. This is also the place to buff if you need to buff for sclavi.

Once you jump in and run down the ramp, this is what you will be confronted with. The two sclavi on the left are Se Sclavi, and the barely visible (but targeted) sclavi is an Aste Sclavus. The Aste has both the key you need to get out, and the Dagger of Tikola. The chest visible by the Se Sclavi contains the Dull Dagger (for which the purpose is still unknown.)  The locked door to the surface portal is on the other side of the Aste Sclavus.
